I love this picture!  Cheesecake/Pinup obviously, (I mean, who makes hot tea between their legs, really!?) but you know this was probably one in dozens of shots where the model wasn’t laughing so hard that she was trying not to fall off the counter.  There’s something in her face that says “Pull through this.  Seriously, straight face,” like when you tell a really good joke and you have to force yourself not to crack up before you deliver the punch line.

I’m all soft today.  She’s pretty and she’s obviously modeling lingerie.  I don’t really understand what the fanned-back hair has to do with it, but lingerie in the kitchen is such an obvious mix that the photographer gets major points docked for lack of creativity.  I get it, she’s supposed to look mussed, morning-after, and she’s gonna make toaster strudel or whatever she can manage despite the fact that she’s hungover.  And she’s a normal party girl, but she wears La Perla when she goes home to pass out.   That’s cool.  But the hair?  Really?  You can achieve that look with some TIGI Bedhead, and be done with it.

This picture makes me feel unfulfilled.  She doesn’t really look happy.  Instead, she looks like she’s trying too hard to be edgy.  Also, the juxtaposition of fetish wear and a traditional kitchen doesn’t evoke the “S&M Housewife” scenario they’re aiming for, it just looks like a square peg in a round hole.  Maybe if she were doing something other than sneering at the camera, it would look more natural.  The model can’t drink the wine that’s in front of her while wearing the gag, but maybe if the glass were full and she was bringing it to someone on a tray…or doing dishes.  This picture would be scandalous if she were doing dishes like this.  The reason we take sexy photos in kitchens is because it is totally dirty and perverted to do dirty things in a clean place, a place that is supposed to be the center of the family.   This photo isn’t sexy.

Just a soft core pinup, simple and pretty.  She’s side-eyeing the photographer something fierce, though.  I don’t think they worked out her cues properly.

This reminds me of the sorts of pictures couples upload to swinger websites.  *shrug* Nothing wrong with it, per se, it’s just so over-posed and such an unintentionally strange juxtaposition.  I like pictures with disparate elements where the photographer is aware of the oddness of the composition.  Here I think the kitchen wasn’t part of the thought process, it just happened to be a convenient location.  You’re not meant to notice the fridge, the pretty red-wood cabinetry, or the fact that the family has a cat.  You’re only meant to notice the fake tan and the stilettos.  This picture presents such a tiny slice of their lives that it seems disloyal to their lives as a whole.

There’s a sense of casual happiness and simplicity here.  She may have not even realized that the camera was on until the flash went off.  She knows the photographer, and she’s comfortable being naked around them, but she’s not really thrilled about being photographed.  This feels like the sort of picture that gets tossed in a memory box and excavated long after a relationship ends, to be gazed up on wistfully, while audio effects of soft laughter and cajoling play in the background.  Or you know, some scenario not covered in every romantic comedy ever.

I like that whether or not they actually are, these all look like candid amateurs.  I like amateur photography, especially nudes.  In camera, veritas.  The production design and the framing is far from perfect, but there is real emotion there.  Or at least a persuit of fun.

Anyone notice her lip ring?

On another note, that green is a really fabulous way to make a tiny kitchen have far more appeal.

This is both outrageously staged, and a throwback to the times when this was the sort of thing that girls were supposed to aspire to.
I think girls have more sense than that, though.  No one should ever aspire to that apron.  It’s scary, in an un-fun way.
